Help for Hurricane Victims

Posted: September 8, 2017

Hurricane over Texas

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have displaced tens of thousands of people and the overwhelming costs of damages continue to mount every day. Now, more than ever, all of us in the propane industry—as well as the millions of customers we serve—want to step up and help.

As a beginning, the National Propane Gas Association and the Propane Research and Education Council have worked together to create webpages that provide vital information and resources for both propane marketers and their propane consumers. These pages will be updated regularly with new information.

The Hurricane Irma main page can be found here.

In situations like these, many people wonder: what is the best way I can help? Here are some ways you can support those affected by these two devastating storms.

Donate to the Direct Impact Fund

If you’d like to see your dollars directed to verified campaigns that support those affected, donate to the Direct Impact Fund for either Hurricane Harvey or Hurricane Irma.

The Direct Impact Fund is an independent, registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working directly with GoFundMe to provide immediate and direct assistance to those affected by natural and manmade disasters.

Share the link to the Direct Impact Fund with your network

Share the links to the Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma relief landing pages with your social networks to spread the word about how to help. Share this information on Facebook, by email and by text.

Champion an existing campaign or start a new one

Find a campaign that moves you on the Hurricane Harvey or Hurricane Irma relief landing pages and become an ambassador for the campaign. By donating to a campaign, or sharing the campaign’s link with your networks, you are directly increasing the support this campaign receives. You may also want to start a campaign for someone you know who is personally affected. Read more about starting your own campaign here.
